Well, 2006 is here. I don't make resolutions anymore, cause I never keep them, so I can skip that.

Well, first off: NEWS!!!!

ALICE COOPER AND HELIX ARE PLAYING ST. JOHN'S ON MAY 1!!!!! I'm fucking there. Now to get tickets, and all that. That's gonna be an amazing show.

On a recap:

My new years/berf-day party was fun. Went well, only 2 people seriously passed out. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Christmas was good too. Not a lot of fighting, which is always good.

I have the Arcade Fire album. Such a good listen. Highly, highly reccomended by me.

I passed all my courses. Not by as comfortable a margin, but I passed them none the less. The past semester was difficult the whole way through, and because of a lot of things, my schoolwork totally suffered. I'm very happy that I won't have to do those courses again.

I fear I've become an insomniac again. Not a good feeling. I've even cut back on caffeine, but it's not helping.

Fuck, you'd think I'd have more after a full holiday break, but here we are.

Things for the next semester:

- The Embarrassments have some shows coming up, one in St. John's for the Rock Can Roll festival, and an all ages shindig at The Backlot.

- I'm still on the GCSU. Should be interesting to say the least. I don't expect things to settle down there for a while.

- Still working at Movie Gallery. It's a great place, and I like it there. It's a sweet job to say the least.

- I'm going to take 3 courses this semester. I need to take it easy for a bit, I hit lower points in the past semester than I've ever had before. I'm hoping a more relaxed courseload will help. I'll try to make the other 2 up during intersession VIA distance education.

Well, I think that's it. Providing blanket statements bimonthly is so much easier than regularly updating.

Till next time...

Giving you all an invitation to my 20th berf-day party.

That extra b's a typo...

It's at my place:
17 Townview Rd. (Mapquest it if you're uncertain)
on December 31. Any time you want to come is fine.

There's extra floor space/bed space if anybody needs to crash for the night.

I can't emphasize the BYOBB. I'm cheap as fuck, I'll probably end up drinking 10% Faxe, or something of comparable shittyness.

Hope everybody had a good holiday to date. Mine's been good. Got some cool stuff, and work's been fine.

Talk to you all soon!

DONE EXAMS!!!! Here's my Christmas list...

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

Last Thursday I ate my brussel sprouts (1 points). In July I ruled Canada as a cruel and heartless dictator (-700 points). Last week I bought porn for kwanboa (-10 points). In June on a flight to LA, I stole the emergency flight information card (-40 points). Last Friday I punched kaji_sama in the arm (-10 points).

Overall, I've been naughty (-759 points). For Christmas I deserve a moldy sandwich!

Write your letter to Santa! Enter your LJ username:

Wow, this all works too well.

Whatever you celebrate this holiday season, have a good one!

Well it ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe,
If'n you don't know by now,
An' it ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe,
It'll never do, somehow.
When your rooster crows at the break of dawn,
Look out your window and I'll be gone,
You're the reason I'm trav'lin' on,
But don't think twice, it's all right.

And it ain't no use in turnin' on your light, babe,
That light I never knowed,
An' it ain't no use in turnin' on your light, babe,
I'm on the dark side of the road.
But I wish there was somethin' you would do or say,
To try and make me change my mind and stay,
We never did too much talkin' anyway,
But don't think twice, it's all right.

So it ain't no use in callin' out my name, gal,
Like you never done before,
An' it ain't no use in callin' out my name, gal,
I can't hear you anymore.
I'm a-thinkin' and a-wond'rin' walkin' down the road,
I once loved a woman, a child I am told,
I gave her my heart but she wanted my soul,
But don't think twice, it's all right.

So long, honey babe,
Where I'm bound, I can't tell,
Goodbye's too good a word, babe,
So I'll just say fare thee well,
I ain't sayin' you treated me unkind,
You coulda have done better but I don't mind,
You just kinda wasted my precious time,
But don't think twice, it's all right.

That woman in my Social Movements class, and Newfoundland Folklore class is doing the same degree as me. (If you've ever had that middle aged woman in the front of your class, who NEVER SHUTS THE HELL UP, you know who I'm talking about). I'm going to end up in the same god damned 4000 level classes with her as well.

Too bad Chuck Norris wasn't here. A few roundhouse kicks would straighten everything out.

Whoa, a good day? What the hell is going on?

Woke up to my clock radio blaring the cool part of "Take Me Out" by Franz Ferdinand. What a great song to start a day.

I'm at work in the AV Room now until 3, then I got a council meeting at 3:30. The council meeting's probably the only part of the day where things could go wrong, just cause I know it's going to take a few minutes short of forever.

I've been in paper writing mode, and I'm putting the finishing touches on my Newfoundland Folklore paper, a 2000 word romp around the historic community of St. George's, Newfoundland. I still have 3 more papers after this, the one I'm most looking forward to being a 8-12 page research paper on PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), and the Animal Rights movement in whole.

I finally got my copy of The Rocky Horror Punk Rock Show yesterday, at the same time, I paid in advance for the Queens of the Stone Age Live CD/DVD which is coming out this coming Tuesday.

I'll pick it up, and later on that day, I'm going to Ottawa. I'll be there until Sunday with Imoh (GCSU Prez) representing the GCSU at the national CFS (Canadian Federation of Students) meeting.

Well, that's it for me, for now at least.

Till next time, Keep on Rocking in the Free World, and doot doodle oo doo ----

Well, the all ages show went over really well. Protest The Hero were amazing, and they were really cool guys too. The local bands were all excellent as well. Our final turnout was 150. That's really good for a show here.

I've started going to classes again. How about that? I missed a bunch at the beginning of the week because of other things that were up, then I missed Thursday and Friday, cause I was sick as a fucking dog. I'm still sick, but I've learned to ignore it.

However, saying that, I might actually give up on being such a stubborn sonofabitch and actually go see a doctor. I've got a bunch of stuff to deal with. The worst being the depression, and the taste of blood which I can't get out of my mouth (despite never finding blood in my mouth).

Well, paper time is starting now. I don't even know what and when everything is due. I have an ANTH 1031 test on Thursday, which is going to suck. Hows about that, my first failed course, an intro 1st year course. Well, mabye I can salvage a pass. Here's hoping.

It's going to be nice to take a break from the band as well. The show was fun, I like playing shows and everything with them, but I need to sort out a bunch of other shit right now.

Finally, I'm going to Ottawa on August 22. I'm going to be representing the GCSU at the National Meetings. Should be interesting.

Anyway, back to my work at the AV desk... Yee Haw.

Well, one of Phil's rants got me thinking about wasting paper, and it brought me back to yesterday.

Yesterday, I had to go dumpster diving, as a janitor took 150 dollars worth of promotional material for the November 5th show, and threw it all out. In his defense, it was on the floor, but in my defense, it was neatly stacked, with most of the stuff in a large envelope, which had my name on it on several places.

But I digress...

I eventually found the materials, and while most of them were ruined, the CDS and postcards, being in the envelope, were saved, and fortunately, do not reek.

While I was digging though, I came across something shocking. There is NO paper recycling done at this university. The cans are recycled, but there's money in that. I probably sifted through 2 or 3 thousand pieces of paper, and that was the throwout from A HALF A DAY.

Sir Wilfred Grenfell College is supposed to be the "environmental centre of excellence," AND WE THROW OUT NEARLY 5000 SHEETS OF PAPER PER DAY.

I've been involved with the Grenfell Environmental Affairs Committee, and we had lobbied the janitors to actually do their job with recycling, and they said it was getting done. It's obvious after yesterday, that it's not.

This has to change.

Show in St. John's was great. One of the best shows I've ever played. People there were amazing, and we got 2 encores. I've never been asked for one encore, let alone 2. Had an exam today (make-up for FOLK 1000) and I have two tomorrow (Social Movements Make Up, and Newfoundland Folklore). Can't wait for them to be over with.

Rocky Horror ends Saturday night. Can't wait. It's been fun, but so much fucking work. Rehearsals every night this week.

a few shows coming up as well.

October 29 - Whistlers w/ Starred Opposite, some band from New Brunswick, and ...fromouterespace
November 5 - The Backlot w/ PROTEST THE HERO, FCKU, Electric Lettuce, and ...fromouterspace
- Plus a few other shows TBA

Bottom line is, I'll have a lot less on my plate in November, which means a sane, much more stable Cranford, which is a good thing.

Well, back to my work, which is essentially doing nothing interrupted by the occasional minute or two of work...

Till next time.

Hey, It's official.

Underground Operations is bringing their Unity Tour to Corner Brook.

The show is going to be all ages at The Backlot on NOVEMBER 5. The show will get on the go around 5:00/5:30, and will run until 9:00/9:30.

The bands performing are:

The Brat Attack
Protest The Hero
Bombs Over Providence
The Embarrassments

The three bands coming in are absolutely amazing. Protest The Hero, 2 weeks after the show in Corner Brook, will be opening for US Bombs and Bad Religion in Toronto. The Brat Attack was in Corner Brook on May 14, when they opened for Closet Monster. They were amazing, and if you missed them the first time through, now's the time to see them!

Also, if you haven't seen ...fromouterspace yet, you're missing out. These guys are the best band I've ever heard from C.B., and The Embarrassments... Well, I guess a few people like them, I for one, don't.

Tickets are tentatively 8 bucks, but could go down.

After the show, the bar will open, and drinking will begin.

For More about the tour, and free MP3s from the bands, go to http://www.undergroundoperations.com/unitytour05/

This is going to be freakin' sweet.....

Well, she pops up again...

A distant little blip on the radar, about as far away as they come..

The only reason I'm writing this is you wrote me. Frankly, I could have went the rest of my life not talking to you again.

You see, you made your choice. When you dropped off the face of the earth for 2 weeks, and re-appeared with this new dude, you made your choice. It's not like telling me what was up would have been that hard. If you wanted to do this, you could have told me. I'm a big man, I can take it. I'll be blunt in stating that I LOVED you, and part of love is wanting the person to be happy, no matter what. If you had wanted to end it with me, cause you'd be happier with this other guy, then you could have fucking told me, and I wouldn't be here writing this right now.

I worried about you for a week and a half, cause you wouldn't return my calls, my e-mails, or even message me when you were online.

Well, here's the best part Bre. I had my plane ticket bought to go to Vancouver. Had a travel plan to get down there. I even had the rates at some hotel down there (Natche's? Something that sounds like that, it was nearby), and was planning to make reservations. I was willing to spend half my college money on a surprise for you, so I could finally see you.

Then, one day, I pop online, and see your yafro, with pictures of you and this guy. Honestly, I can say that was the lowest I've ever felt. To think things were OK, and then to have that staring me in the face, wow, wasn't that a surprise.

Well, I sold the ticket to my cousin. I was travelling with my parents (family wedding in BC), and she really wanted to go, but couldn't find a ticket. So, she got to go, and I avoided apparantly making the biggest mistake of my life. Funny, I also gave her some half-used phone cards to use on her flight...

I regret nothing honestly. Would I do it all over again? Probably not. That doesn't mean I regret it. Don't worry about ol' Cranford. I'm doing better than ever.

Well, take this at face value, it's things I've wanted to say since about a month ago. There was a chance to salvage a friendship out of this, but it really seems that that chance is gone.

I don't have any ill will towards you at all anymore, life's too short to be pissed off, I'm still hurt, but wounds heal with time.

I hope things get better for you. I don't know why your life is horrid (I tried to ask the last time I talked to you), but I'm still pulling for you..

If you want to call me or message me sometime, sure, go for it, I don't know how I'll respond, but whatever, try if you want, cause I'm not going to try anymore.

Oh, by the way, I'm single again, and I have been for like a month or so.

A couple people who read my livejournal mentioned it to me this week and I completely forgot that people besides me actually read this tripe.

So, yes, I'm single, but frankly, I couldn't care less.

Onward to more important things...

Had my first shift at Movie Gallery on Monday. It's a great job. I'm really looking forward to my next shift (Sunday 2:00 - 10:30, if anyone wants to visit)

Also, I'm running for Councilor At Large again for the GCSU. If you are going to SWGC, or know anybody who is, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD SPREAD THE WORD TO VOTE FOR ME!!! I really want to get involved in the union again this year, cause it might be my last one. If you don't have me on MSN, my account is noleafclover511@hotmail.com, and my e-mail is scranford@swgc.mun.ca if you have any questions, or anything, let me know.

Let's see... What else is there to report about my past 2 weeks...

Rocky Horror Rehearsals are going well. I haven't stopped listening to the soundtrack since I got it (Thanks Billy!) We're pretty tight on Act 1, now it's just learning Act 2 I need to do.

Parents get home the weekend. It was nice to be mostly alone for 2 weeks. I doubt that I'll get that freedom again, at least not until I move out (hopefully sooner than later).

Well, I guess that's it. I'm not that interesting of a person anyway.

I'm gone to poster the school, and then god knows what else..

Till Next time.

God... What a night.

Started off with Mainstream Wrestling Entertainment. It was fucking awesome! I met a bunch of amazing wrestlers, including THE HONKY TONK MAN!!!!! I got an autographed pic of him, and I shook his hand. I should of got my picture with him, but that's one regret I'll actually have to live with...

I also met Scott Savage, who was the best wrestler of the night, and Samantha Swallow (haha), who was the ref for the night.

I then went up to open mic at the backlot, and then to finish the night, I went to Rick Waterman's Birthday party at JAcks. It was an open Jam, and I played with a ton of different musicians.

Now, to focus on the show tomorrow night with Roundelay. After that, I can rest, and rest I shall.

Final note, September 19th is International Talk Like a Pirate Day. I expect to hear some...

Well, to bed. Gotta get up early to do a paper.

Good night.

Stolen from Karen. Yoink...

Look at your LJ "interests" list. If you have fewer than 50 interests, pick every fifth one. If you have between fifty and seventy-five interests, pick every seventh one. If you have over seventy-five interests, pick every tenth one. If you have fewer than ten, pick all of 'em. List them on your LJ, and tell everyone exactly what it is about these things that interests you so much.

2nd Hand Clothes - Sooo good. New clothes looks like shit about 99% of the time. I hate buying a shirt and seeing like 20 like it. All of my favorite stuff is second hand. I make it a point to go to as many 2nd hand clothes stores as possible.

Driving - Driving is fun. If gas wasn't so fucking expensive, I'd do it much more often. I love driving on the highway, it's surprisingly relaxing.

Happy Gilmore - One of my favorite movies. The Bob Barker cameo really clinches it for me.

Motorhead - Fucking great band. Lemmy is punk as fuck, he has a voice that sounds like he gargles hot gravel every morning. Amazing band. Simply Amazing.

Primus - Another great band. Les Claypool is one of the best bassists in popular music. Great sound. Truly Unique.

Sir Mix A Lot - One of my guiltiest pleasures. When I had the mean machine (My last car - A '95 Plymoth Acclaim), his "SWASS" Album was on continuous play in the tape deck. I don't know what it is about him, but it's just so bloody fun.

The Beatles - One of the greatest bands of all time. Plain and simple.

The Reverend Horton Heat - Too many bands in this list. Rockabilly at it's finest. I freaking love this band. You must download some of their tunes, if you haven't heard of them yet.

Weezer - Another band, surprise surprise... They rock amazingly hard. Their performance of "Say It Ain't So" on Letterman in 1995 remains one of my favorite late night performances of all time. The Blue Album remains one of my all time favorite albums as well.
